Feeding recommendations

The recommended feeding period for ELATO Holistic Vet Special Hypoallergenic is 3 to 8 weeks. If signs of food intolerance disappear, the food may initially be used for up to one year. Veterinary advice is recommended before use and before extending the feeding period. During an elimination diet, the dog should receive only the recommended dietetic food. Fresh drinking water must always be available.

ELATO Holistic Vet Special Hypoallergenic combines both approaches. Its recipe contains a single animal protein source — herring — in dehydrated, fresh and hydrolysed forms. Hydrolysis breaks down some proteins into smaller peptides, which may reduce their potential to trigger allergic reactions. Dehydrated and fresh herring complement the recipe with high-quality nutrients and contribute to palatability.

Why is sunflower oil added to hypoallergenic food for dogs?

Sunflower oil is a source of linoleic acid, an essential omega-6 fatty acid that is important for normal skin structure and the maintenance of its natural barrier function. Dogs with food allergies or intolerances may experience itching, redness and other skin problems, so the recipe includes fatty acids to provide nutritional support for the skin, alongside selected protein sources.
